Walgreens needed to update 50 stores to incorporate fresh grocery and improved options allowing families to build full meals from Walgreens grocery.
Sevan stepped in to manage the programme through the entire process, working with leaders of both companies to understand each of their standards and what a successful finished product looked like. Sevan assisted with partnering with a grocery brand business that was well-known to gain buy-in from customers that Walgreens is a solution to their grocery needs and to increase front-end sales by providing a one-stop shop opportunity for customers.
Over 19% of a front-end sales lift from customer support of the new model, the largest lift from a front-end conversion for the company. Updates included multiple formats offering different levels of grocery based on market research. Kroger Express was the top tier, expanded refrigeration a middle tier offering and finally merch only as the smallest initiative. Programme was completed on time and under budget.
