4,370+ HE roof-top HVAC units installed.
850+ Walgreens stores touched.
39 million kWh annual energy savings.
CHALLENGE
Walgreen’s Advanced Rooftop Unit (RTU) process involves selective decommissioning and replacement of older HVAC rooftop units with new high efficiency heating and cooling equipment. Sevan provided technical surveys, engineering design, unit right-sizing, infrastructure modifications, Energy Management Systems (EMS) commissioning, exhaust fan replacement, and full store Test & Balance.
SOLUTION
Sevan surveyed the Walgreens sites and managed engineering design for the program. The Sevan program team executed the purchasing of materials, permitting, inspections, and hiring of subcontractors. Sevan carefully tracked the disposal of the materials to ensure there was no waste generated and all materials were recycled, reused, or disposed of in compliance with EPA guidelines.
RESULTS
The Fiscal 2018 program alone received a Department of Energy award for installing 4,370+ high-efficiency roof top HVAC units with advanced control systems, touching more than 850 stores. The installations will deliver more than 39 million kWh annual energy savings, which is roughly equal to the annual energy used by 110 retail stores
