CHALLENGE
Walgreens acquired 200+ Duane Reade locations in New York City and needed to integrate them to align with Walgreens’ branding and merchandising standards. To do this, interior signage, fixtures and merchandise needed to be retrofitted through a sequenced renovation program with most locations operating 24 hours. There were also logistical challenges of transporting equipment in NYC along with accommodating the unique layouts of each location.
SOLUTION
Sevan surveyed each site to collect very specific merchandise and fixture data points which were used by procurement and merchandising teams to plan and order fixtures, merchandise and signage. Sevan also secured a local warehouse to act as a central hub to store all necessary fixtures and process inbound/outbound inventory.
RESULTS
Sevan orchestrated a multitude of teams to successfully integrate each site to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations. Sevan and Walgreens worked together to complete the full 200 site conversion program in 12 months.
