CHALLENGE
Giant Eagle needed help to execute its new Prepared Foods Reduction Program, consisting of 64 stores across Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Indiana. The program would elevate its grab-and-go service options by replacing existing equipment such as antipasti, soup and salad bars with self-contained multi-deck units. Giant Eagle also wanted to upgrade kitchen equipment including fryers, rotisseries and refrigerators to optimize prepared foods operations.
SOLUTION
Giant Eagle was under time constraints and needed program management to execute its Prepared Foods Reduction Program. Sevan understood the scope for each store, organized pre-construction meetings, conducted site visits and oversaw punch walks. Sevan divided the projects into regions and appointed project managers for each. Sevan created a customized Smartsheet tracker to manage the program and Sevan capture forms to facilitate pre-construction meetings, site visits and punch walks. Sevan coordinated five general contractors.
RESULTS
Sevan’s team successfully managed Giant Eagle’s Prepared Foods Reduction Program in six months, ensuring standardization and representation of all site activities and timely execution. Sevan addressed all punch list items efficiently, overcoming challenges across different geographical regions.
